Closed Circuit: Post-Vaudeville Tap Dance in Chicago

May 18, 2019: Jenai Cutcher's presentation, "Closed Circuit: Post-Vaudeville Tap Dance in Chicago," as a part of the Newberry Library's Symposium on Dance in the Midwest. 

 

The presentation included three performance demonstrations: A recreation of the original Riff Brothers (Charles Grass and Bob Fosse) softshoe by Jenai Cutcher and Heather Brown accompanied by Marie Grass Amenta; The Copasectics Chair Dance performed by Heather Brown and Jenai Cutcher; and the Shim Sham (Steve Condos Version) performed by Patti Vickerman with Heather Brown and Jenai Cutcher
